Kenya Volleyball Federation launched a youth development programme in 2008 with a view to identifying and nurturing talent at grassroots
for future club and national teams as well as the opportunity to address hitherto observed shortcomings in Kenyan players; e.g.,
inadequate technical skills, which has been the main undoing for Kenya at international level.

The programme entails running training camps at various centers in the country during school holidays; whereby, coaches handle selected youth,
 imparting necessary skills (techniques).

The Federation has in partnership with UNICEF and Ministry of Youth and Sports been running a training Programme girl volleyball players as part
of the National Youth Talent Academy (NYTA)
