About KVF
The sport of volleyball, which in Kenya, is run under the auspices of the Kenya Volleyball Federation, was introduced in the country in the early 1962. The Federation was registered with the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) in 1964. ”
Kenya Volleyball Federation was founded in 1964 and is affiliated to the Kenya National Sports Council (KNSC), the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K), Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB) and the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB).
It is the role of the Federation to identify, nurture and develop talent, promote volleyball, oversee volleyball activities in schools, colleges and other institutions, develop technical personnel (coaches and referees), organize volleyball competitions in the country and prepare different categories of national volleyball teams – youth, junior and senior players – and enter them for relevant competitions.

Host and defending champions Ahly of Egypt ambitiously earn another victory in the second day of the 2019 Men’s African Club Championship after beating Libya’s Ahly Tripoli 3-1 (25-12, 25-17, 19-25, 25-17) to take a commanding lead in Pool A.Day 2 also U produced surprise results as Uganda's team shone, while the Kenyans had negative results in their dream to clinch knockout stage tickets.
Kenyan champions GSU suffered a shocking second successive loss of the ongoing championship, going down to a much energized Nemo stars of Uganda 2-3(20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 27-25, 15-8) in a pool D match. GSU, under the tutelage of Coach Gideon Tarus found themselves in unfamiliar territory after narrowly losing the first two sets to their East African rivals.
GSU however recovered and fought hard to take the next two sets, sending the match into a tie break, with sets tied at 2-2. Nemo stars had other ideas as they stormed into an early lead 8-4, establishing a healthy lead as the set neared its conclusion. GSU failed to close the gap allowing the Ugandans to win by 15-8, condemning the Kenyan outfit to their 2nd loss of the 2019 showpiece.
In another match of the day, other Kenyan representatives Prisons Kenya went down fighting to a formidable Libyan side, Al Swehly, losing 1-3(25-22, 19-25, 19-25, 25-27) in a group C clash. The coach Lung’aho led charged started the set well as they came from a losing position to bag the first set25-22. However, too many mistakes by the Kenyan side, more so, service errors helped tilt the advantage towards lay year’s semifinalists as they bagged two sets in similar score line of 25-19.
In the 4th set, former Kenyan champions Prisons Kenya played their hearts out as they sought to have the match go to a tie break. Swehly on the other hand were closing in on their second successive win of the tournament, which they achieved as they narrowly won the 4th set 27-25, and the match 3-1 to take control of Group C.
In other pool C matches played, Wolaita of Ethiopia got their first ever win after beating VC Espoir 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 31 -29). FAP of Cameroun overcame opponents Rukinzo from Burundi 3-1 (25-14, 19-25, 25-23, 25 -19) to win their first game in the campaign.
