About KVF

The sport of volleyball, which in Kenya, is run under the auspices of the Kenya Volleyball Federation, was introduced in the country in the early 1962. The Federation was registered with the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) in 1964. ”

Kenya Volleyball Federation was founded in 1964 and is affiliated to the Kenya National Sports Council (KNSC), the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K), Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB) and the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB).

It is the role of the Federation to identify, nurture and develop talent, promote volleyball, oversee volleyball activities in schools, colleges and other institutions, develop technical personnel (coaches and referees), organize volleyball competitions in the country and prepare different categories of national volleyball teams – youth, junior and senior players –  and enter them for relevant competitions.

The Kenya Volleyball Federation has on Tuesday morning received a major boost towards the preparation of the 2018 edition of the National league playoffs. The cash sponsorship from KCB is to the tune of 1 million Shillings.

 The much awaited showdown  will be staged between  1st  and 3rd December with the winners of of the title guaranteed a direct ticket to 2019 CAVB African Club Championships.

On hand to receive the cheque that was presented by KCB group Head of Corporate and regulatory affairs, madam Judith Sidi Odhiambo, was KVF President Waithaka Kioni, flanked by 1st Vice President CBD Nyaberi during a handing over ceremony at Kasarani arena on Tuesday morning,

KVF president Waithaka Kioni lauded KCB for their support towards the growth of Kenyan volleyball in the country. 

“We are very much grateful to KCB Bank for the huge boost towards the staging of this year’s event, KCB has produced some of the country’s best talent in volleyball and we look forward to other areas of collaborations in the future”

The 8 teams(4 women and 4 men) that will battle it out for the prestigious title include:
